Wedding Anniversaries are very special and much celebrated occasions, especially the landmark anniversaries, Silver, Golden etc.

At Complete Events we find that these parties tend to take one of two formats:-

Traditional Evening Party

This is ideal for those that want the opportunity to 'catch up' with friends they may not have seen for a long while, whilst still offering them the chance to really party.

A Drinks Reception offers guests the chance to mingle and chat at the start of the party. Making sure the marquee is big enough to allow guests to mingle freely and comfortably, and not so cramped, or even worse restricted by dining tables (so often the case when marquees or fixed venues are too small) is vital.

Background music is a good idea, but make sure it is not too loud as to make conversation difficult.

Formal Seated Dinner: By carefully planning your table placements your guests can be positioned either to replicate (as far as possible) the table layout of your Wedding Day. Alternatively, perhaps one can plan so that those who have not seen each other for a while are close.

Buffet service may be cheaper, more sociable and may offer more choice of food than more formal waitress service, but of course much depends on the overall style and feel you wish to achieve.

You may like to consider asking a particular section of your guests (say, all the chaps?) to move along a couple of places between each course so as to offer the chance for people to mingle more.

Dancing: By the time dinner has finished most guests will be keen to let their hair down, the ideal culmination to a perfect party with those friends and relations who were present on your Wedding Day.

Lunch Party

A lunch party can be the more practical option allowing guests the opportunity to travel home after the party, an option often preferred by older guests.

If your anniversary falls within the summer months a marquee can offer the pleasant option of dining 'al fresco' under a marquee canopy, with the walls drawn back to allow guests full appreciation of your garden, and of course for good air circulation.

If you do choose this route, make sure you have someone available to draw the walls closed should the weather turn against you.

Should your anniversary fall in Winter, marquees are now extremely comfortable at all times of year, with solid flooring & heating systems providing all weather protection.

Whatever your choice of party format choosing a marquee offers you flexibility and freedom to design the party uniquely for yourselves and this special celebration.
